Placed on Qetaifan North Island in proximity to International Stadium of Lusail, which will host the opening and end games of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Sigge Architects and ADMARES are developing sixteen floating hotels to visitors and fans that will be visiting Qatar.
Expecting a big crowd of people, the Qetaifan Island North, the city key waterfront place, is planned in order to offer all the needs of the visitors and masses, with fun activities and facilities in addition to the fan villages during the tournaments, which may include the floating hotels. The hosting island spans over 1.3 million square meters, with 830,000 square meters alone being attractions and including 7 beaches. With lowest ecological impact, the floating hotels are sustainable solution to accommodate a big number of people.
Creating fresh valuable real estate on water, ADMARES produces creative floating or pile-supported structures. The real estate firm has teamed up with Finnish architect company, Sigge architects to design a new and urban floating development, close to Lusail City in Qatar. The sixteen identical floating hotels, take on a special design, with each building covering seventy-two long and sixteen meter wide consisting of 1010 guest rooms, lounge bar and a restaurant, all of the sixteen 4 story hotels will provide a full of 1616 floating hotels rooms.
In preparation to host World Cup 2020, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Qetaifan and ADMARES projects. It contains the construction and function of sixteen floating hotels on the shores of island of Qetaifan North to offer housing for the masses within the fan villages.
Qetaifan Island Morth, placed off Lusail City, spans about 1.3 million square meters with 830,000 square meters of attractions, featuring 7 beaches, making in the city’s key waterfront place.
