Non-alcoholic cocktail recipes that don’t need booze to taste amazing

The booze industry is booming but with new non-alcoholic cocktail recipes.

As we look to live healthier lifestyles, non-alcoholic alternatives are popping up everywhere. They’re transforming the way we socialise and the way we we drink at home.

Here’s a look at what you will be sipping on – and these non-alcoholic cocktail recipes pack just as much fun and flavour as their alcoholic counterparts.

 

Rosemary Blue

The zing of blueberries meets the savouriness of basil and rosemary in this refreshing concoction.

Rosemary Blue

Ingredients

  • 15 blueberries
  • Leaves of 1 rosemary sprig
  • 22ml basil syrup
  • 22ml fresh lemon juice
  • 60ml club soda

Method

Combine blueberries, rosemary leaves, and basil syrup in the bottom of a cocktail shaker and muddle until well combined. Add lemon juice and shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Double strain into a cocktail glass of your choice filled with ice and top with the club soda. Garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary.

After the Massage

Close your eyes and take a sip to be instantly transported to a spa pavilion on a tropical island.

Ingredients

  • 2 cucumber slices (rounds)
  • 5-6 mint leaves
  • 7ml mint syrup
  • 7ml fresh lime juice
  • 90ml coconut water

Method

Combine the cucumber slices, mint leaves, and mint syrup in the bottom of a cocktail shaker and muddle until well combined. Add ice to the shaker and then pour in the lime juice and coconut water. Shake vigorously until super cold and strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a cucumber ribbon.

Summer in the South

Y’all love American-style sweet tea? This cocktail channels the popular beverage, but with a bitter twist.

Ingredients

  • 60ml lemonade
  • 60ml strongly brewed iced tea
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 1 tsp ginger syrup
  • Squeeze of one lemon wedge
  • 120ml ginger beer

Method

Combine all ingredients except for the ginger beer in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for at least 10 seconds. Pour into a rocks glass filled with ice and top with the ginger beer. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Amaretto AF

At once creamy and nutty, sweet and sour, this delicious drop is like Italy in a glass.

Ingredients

  • 75ml Lyre’s Amaretti
  • 15ml lemon juice
  • 5ml white sugar syrup (1:1)
  • 10ml egg whites
  • 3 dashes aromatic bitters

Method

Rapid shake with ice. Pour over fresh cubed ice in an Old Fashioned glass. Garnish with a lemon wedge and maraschino cherry.

King Louis

A cocktail fit for a king, this beverage is everything you could want on a summer’s day.

Ingredients

  • 60ml Brunswick Aces Hearts Sapiir
  • 15ml lemon juice
  • 45ml coconut water
  • 30ml cucumber mint cordial* Topped with Etch ZST

Method

Shake in a cocktail shaker. Serve in a tall glass and garnish with a rolled and skewered cucumber peel and mint sprig.

*The cucumber mint cordial is homemade

CosNO

The boozy Cosmo may have risen to fame in Sex and the City, but it doesn’t need alcohol to delight.

Ingredients

  • 30ml organic cranberry juice
  • 15ml lime juice
  • 15ml simple syrup (to make, combine equal parts warm water and sugar, stir to dissolve)

Method

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with an orange peel.

Grape Milk

This outstanding but simple cocktail is served at Ström, one of the top bars of Copenhagen.

Ingredients

  • 40ml Gnista Floral Wormwood
  • 40ml freshly squeezed grape juice
  • 40ml milk or oat cream

Method

Shake with ice in a cocktail shaker then pour into a glass with some of the ice. Garnish with fresh mint.

Spritz AF

The cocktail of the moment, the Spritz is refreshing and festive. Great for celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 60ml Lyre’s Italian Spritz
  • 60ml Plus & Minus Blanc de Blanc Sparkling
  • 30ml soda water

Method

Add ingredients to a large or stemless wine glass, stir, fill with fresh cubed ice. Garnish with an orange slice.

Garden Sour

Apple, lemon, vinegar… this is the cocktail equivalent of a fruit salad.

Ingredients

  • 50ml Seedlip Garden 108
  • 35ml cloudy apple juice
  • 15ml lemon juice
  • 5ml cider vinegar
  • Dash of sugar and egg white

Method

Shake ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Pour into a coupe and garnish with rosemary needles.

Negroni AF

This rendition of the Negroni retains the glorious bitter orange notes of its alcoholic sister.

Ingredients

  • 30ml Brunswick Aces alcohol free gin
  • 30ml Lyre’s Apéritif Rosso
  • 30ml Lyre’s Italian Orange

Method

Stir briefly over fresh ice in an Old Fashioned glass. Garnish with an orange slice.

Espresso Martini AF

Just another way to get your morning caffeine hit, as a non-alcoholic cocktail recipe you can do that totally judgement free.

Ingredients

  • 45 ml Lyre’s Coffee Originale
  • 15 ml Lyre’s White Cane Spirit
  • 45 ml fresh espresso
  • 10 ml premium vanilla syrup

Method

Dry shake, half fill shaker with ice. Shake hard briefly, strain finely into a cocktail coupette. Garnish with a coffee bean float.

Spades & Tonic

A new take on the classic G&T.

Ingredients

  • 60ml Brunswick Aces Spades Sapiir
  • 180ml tonic

Method

Pour into a rocks glass and stir. Garnish with a sprig of sage and dried lime.

Hearts & Soda

This recipe will be the key to your heart.

Ingredients

  • 60ml Brunswick Aces Hearts Sapiir
  • 180ml soda

Method

Pour into a rocks glass and stir. Garnish with a sprig of thyme and dried orange.
